We arrange asbestos surveys, removal, testing and disposal throughout Warwickshire, covering 9 towns and cities. Any property built or refurbished before the 1999 UK asbestos ban may contain asbestos-containing materials such as asbestos cement, insulating board (AIB) or textured coatings — a survey is the only reliable way to confirm what is present before any work begins.
We arrange asbestos services in every town across Warwickshire. Licensable work is always carried out by HSE-licensed contractors, in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
The duty to manage asbestos applies to non-domestic premises, and to the common or shared parts of residential blocks — not to individual private homes. Under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, The dutyholder (whoever is responsible for maintenance and repair) must find or presume the asbestos, assess and record its condition, plan how to manage it, and tell anyone who could disturb it. This applies to commercial premises, rented housing and public buildings across Warwickshire.
Warwickshire accepts small amounts of household asbestos at four recycling centres — Judkins, Hunters Lane, Lower House Farm and Princes Drive — up to 3 sheets (or equivalent) per household per month, no more than 20cm high, 150cm wide and 180cm long. It must be double-wrapped in heavy-gauge polythene, sealed with strong tape and labelled 'asbestos waste', or it will be refused, and you must report to the weighbridge or a staff member on arrival. Larger amounts need a licensed contractor. (council source, verified 2026-07-15)
Asbestos waste is classed as hazardous (special) waste. Whoever handles it must ensure it is:
Asbestos removed by a contractor is business waste and cannot go through a household waste route — it must go to a permitted facility with a consignment note. Household disposal rules vary between councils across Warwickshire — when we carry out work, disposal to a permitted facility is handled for you. For the rules where you live, see our asbestos disposal by council lookup, or check typical prices in the UK asbestos removal cost report.
