There's no single flat rate. The cost depends on the type of material, how much there is, where it is and how easy it is to reach. Do I need a licence to remove asbestos?
For higher-risk materials, yes. Sprayed coatings, lagging and most insulation board are licensable work, which must be done by an HSE-licensed contractor. Lower-risk materials, like asbestos cement, can sometimes be handled under non-licensed rules. Either way, a professional should always assess the material first to decide the right approach.
How long does asbestos removal take?
It depends on the material and how much there is. A small non-licensed job, like a garage roof or a few floor tiles, is often done in a day. Licensed removal, such as pipe lagging and most insulation board, takes longer. A sealed enclosure has to be built, and an independent air test passed before anyone goes back in.
