  • The site is for Derby and Derbyshire residents using a private vehicle, and proof of address may be required.
  • Dampen it, do not break or cut it, and double-wrap it in plastic sheeting or bags, securely taped.
  • Tell staff on arrival that you have asbestos.
  • Loose fibres, large amounts and business asbestos are not accepted, and nor is waste created by a business working at your home.
  • Visits Monday to Saturday must be booked in advance (online, or Derby Direct on 0333 200 6981) and you must use the vehicle registered for the booking; Sundays need no booking.
  • Bring your booking confirmation.
  • From Tuesday to Friday the site does not open until 12 noon.
  • Each household is allowed 12 visits a year.
  • Pedestrian access is not allowed.
  • Vans and pick-up trucks must be under 3.5 tonnes, trailers must be domestic type and less than 2m long, and vehicles over 2 metres high or with commercial branding may be refused entry.
  • The council does not state a charge.
